“Radiance”
This work combines string art—formed by countless threads and nails on a black board—with handmade Japanese washi paper.
The image of an eagle spreading its wings symbolizes hope soaring toward the future.
The woven white washi threads capture and reflect light, while the diagonal bands of color evoke dawn or a shimmering rainbow—representing a ray of hope breaking through the darkness.
The title “Radiance” conveys the wish to keep shining, spreading one’s wings even amidst hardship.
Through the translucent layers of washi, the bird and light become one—inviting each viewer to find their own inner radiance.
