「 ひだまり」
Produced in2010 size:H490×W520mm
This work combines the techniques of string art—formed by threads and nails—with traditional handmade washi paper.
On the wooden panel, layers of washi and countless intersecting threads come together, capturing soft light and revealing the gentle figure of a dog.
Since ancient times, dogs have lived close to humans, offering warmth, comfort, and companionship.
In this piece, the dog is depicted quietly resting in a peaceful ray of sunlight, embodying a sense of calm and quiet happiness, as if wrapped in a gentle “hidamari.”
The title Hidamari carries more than the idea of warmth—it is also a wish for viewers to recall the “place of peace” that exists within their own hearts.
