”Kashō – A Beautiful Night”

“Kashō” expresses my own vision of the night, created through the interplay of washi paper and delicate threads.
The fine lines of thread represent the moonlight floating in the night sky, as well as the unseen connections that link people to one another. The soft hues of washi gently embrace the earth, evoking a quiet sense of warmth and expansion.

Along the lower part of the work, the imagery of a cityscape captures the beauty of time shifting from a fiery sunset into tranquil night. Within it lies my contemplation of the coexistence between the earth and the cosmos, between civilization and nature.

The circular form in the upper right symbolizes a new moon—an emblem of hope and the light that carries us into the next era.

Kashō means “a beautiful night that lingers in the heart.”
Through this work, I hope viewers may feel the moment when the human world, the enduring earth, and the infinite universe become one.
