” River Reverie”

When I surrender myself to the flow of the river,
I feel released from the confines of time and become one with nature.
I sought to express that sense of freedom through the layered textures and fibers of washi paper.

White evokes the glimmer of water; blue conveys its depth and tranquility.
The tears and overlaps in the paper suggest the murmuring of the stream,
the bubbling surface, and the rhythm of flowing sound.

“Shōyō” means to wander with a free heart.
In this work, I captured the quiet journey of the soul—
drifting, walking, and pausing along the river’s gentle path.
